This is really good!
Thanks Heishi. Have you got one for me? :- )
"Still you assume my ind is a palce where thinking dies" it powerful stuff. It's true for any language. If people do not understand, they assume stupidity. We need to stop that.
Yes! You definitely picked up on my theme. Assuming stupidity is a subtle and prevalent human tactic to wield power. Thanks so much for your comment.
This is beautiful! The drawings are really expressive, and the writing is lovely (I especially love the image of looking and being looked at - being seen - in return).
Thank you Blue Archer. The drawings are from the NZ Sign Language online dictionary. I use them for accuracy of the sign. The signs as you read the zine are watching you or looking at you, home, delete, Deaf and NZ Sign Language. The art piece also has the sign NZ Sign Language. Thank you so much for checking out my zine. The Deaf have a whole different way of viewing around looking and seeing that you see much less often in hearing cultures. I really liked that you tied it into being seen. Thanks.
The line "wondering does your sense of self / arise / from your learnt impulse to colonise" really resonate with me in a strange way. Thanks for the zine.
Thanks Cythera. Such a lot of our biases are learnt and we are so unaware of them much of the time. Thank you for taking the time to read.
